On January 21 and 22, B&E Precision Aircraft Components was audited by a third party agency. The assessment revealed that the Quality Management System is effective and fully implemented at BEPAC. Reviews of manufacturing processes revealed that our workforce is closely following the processes (Standard Work) documented for metrology, high tolerance fabrication of aerospace components, Nondestructive testing, materials management, suitable preservation of product and accurate production control.
Additional review of the Quality Assurance processes identified robust process for Final and First Article Inspection processes. Glenn Ford, Vice President of B&E Group Quality Assurance stated, “The processes we follow in the B&E Precision Aircraft Components Quality Assurance team are all intended to ensure 100% Customer compliance to all specifications and requirements.” The data shows. BEPAC Quality ratings are at 94.6% for 2008. Ford continues, “Our meeting a goal of 94.6% is not the end of our journey. Like an Olympic swimmer, tenths of a second determine who achieves the Gold medal. The last few percent are difficult to achieve…but I know that the team is dedicated to achieving Gold by the end of 2009.”
The auditor reviewed business process and clearly identified that Executive Management at B&E is committed to continual improvement of not only the QMS, but the entire enterprise. The auditor stated, “ It is a pleasure to identify that the Management at B&E is determined to preserve, and in fact improve, the ratings for Customer satisfaction that you’ve already received. This validates top management active participation in the QMS.” The assessment showed that annual management reviews of the QMS are a part of the B&E culture.
B&E Group LLC is forging ahead with plans to also include certification for D&S Manufacturing, another business unit of the B&E Group. Initial assessment is scheduled for 9 March of 2009.
