Founded in 1916, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences has a long and proud tradition of providing exemplary educational opportunities to its students. The private, not-for-profit University is composed of two colleges, the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Biosciences.
The College of Osteopathic Medicine ranks as one of the oldest and largest of the nation’s 20 osteopathic colleges. The College of Osteopathic Medicine is the oldest medical school in Kansas City, Mo., and with approximately 950 students, ranks as the largest in the state of Missouri. More than 7,000 physicians have graduated from KCUMB.
The College of Biosciences accepted its first class of 20 students in the fall of 2005. Emphasis for the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program will be placed on the acquisition of knowledge in state-of-the-art research methods and protocol.
KCUMB employees play an active part in the Kansas City Community by volunteering for various organizations, and the University serves as one of eight key stakeholders in the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute.
Located in Kansas City’s historic Northeast Neighborhood, the University’s beautifully landscaped campus is just minutes from downtown and provides free parking and 24-hour security.
