OUR WORKPLACE CULTURE
The YMCA provides a values-based environment where caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are incorporated into everything we do. The atmosphere is fun, the facilities are safe and clean and the work is among the most rewarding. Many YMCA employees start their careers as member-service coordinators, swim instructors, lifeguards, health and fitness trainers, child care and camp counselors, community outreach directors and sports directors. But not all YMCA jobs are specifically tied to a program area. YMCAs also offer opportunities in human resources, finance, computers, facility management, marketing and public relations, fundraising and just about any other field.
The People We Serve
YMCA programs are offered at nine branches, 17 Head Start centers, 58 childcare sites and more than 50 community outreach centers throughout Central Maryland. The YMCA touched the lives of more than 150,000 men, women and children throughout the Central Maryland area last year.
YMCA of Central Maryland
The YMCA is one of few organizations that has a life-long partnership with the people it serves. From infants to senior adults, a YMCA Membership opens the doors to many exciting individual, family and community programs. As a matter of fact, close to 30,000 members looked to the YMCA of Central Maryland last year to enjoy a variety of healthy, fun activities. We have a program for everybody!
Financial Assistance
The Y provides a financial assistance to at-risk youth, temporarily unemployed adults and families and those with limited income. Call your local YMCA branch for more information.

Members can earn Y-Bucks by simply recruiting other members. These are good toward any YMCA programs all year round.
Membership Types and Payments
We provide a wide variety of membership types in order to meet our member's specific needs.
Youth – any child under 18 years old
College - any full time college student carrying 12 credits or more
Adult – any adult ages 18 - 64
Senior – any adult ages 65 and up
Two Adult Household - two adults plus all children 24 and under living at the same address
One Adult Household- one adult plus all children 24 and under living at the same address
Senior Family - two adults (at least one adult over 65) and dependent children living in the home under 18
A.W.A.Y. (Always Welcome At YMCAs) Program
When you join the YMCA of Central Maryland, you become a member of a nation-wide association of people that helps build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Therefore, when away from home, on business or vacation, you will be warmly welcomed by all other participating YMCAs in the United States. PAYMENT OPTIONS
Continuous Bank Draft: Upon acceptance of this plan, monthly dues are automatically withdrawn from your checking account.
Annual Payment Plan: One payment annually on the anniversary date of your membership, with an invoice sent to you thirty days in advance of your anniversary.
