Phoenix, Arizona — John C. Lincoln Health Network is a locally owned and managed not-for-profit health care network serving Phoenix, Arizona since 1927. Our Network includes two excellent hospitals, physician practices and radiology centers and a wide range of community service programs.
The honor and privilege of serving the people of the North Valley has been a mission that’s driven our efforts for more than 80 years. We are the only Arizona organization ever to be honored with the Foster G. McGaw prize, a national recognition of innovative excellence in service to the community.
Although our focus is local, we hold ourselves to standards of medical and business excellence worthy of national recognition. From nursing care to community service to business ethics and more, we’ve been honored by local and national experts with awards for practically every aspect of what we do.
But it’s not the awards that matter. The way we see it, the greatest honor of all is that people trust us with their lives in moments of their greatest vulnerability. That’s a privilege we take seriously.
John C. Lincoln.
Honored by Experts. Honored to Serve.
At John C. Lincoln Hospitals . . .
We hold ourselves to a standard of medical excellence and human compassion worthy of national recognition, without losing our focus on the individual person in our local community that it is our privilege to serve.
Our environment is a continuum of hospital health care and community services for people of all ages, health needs and socioeconomic conditions.
There are two common threads tying all aspects of our network together:
• The first is an environment of uncommon commitment to medical excellence assuring that the quality of the care and service we provide would be worthy of recognition at the very highest levels.
• The second is an environment of genuine concern for people – concern that shows itself in our commitment to the personal welfare of those we serve. Concern for the continuing professional development and job satisfaction of those with whom we serve.
This can be seen in:
• Our 30 years of providing top-level trauma services.
• Our 55 years of hospital and convalescent care
• Our 80+ years of not-for-profit medical and social services.
Add to that our dozens of innovative and award-winning programs and services – bringing hope and health to tens of thousands of lives throughout our community.
And our dozens of innovative and award-winning programs and services – bringing hope and health to tens of thousands of lives throughout our community.
Our mission at John C. Lincoln Health Network has always been one of serving people, providing excellent health care and helping to build a community that cares for those in need.
You can have the best technology in the world, but it’s useless unless the people using it are knowledgeable, experienced and committed to excellence.
What it takes to have that kind of an organization is respect for the talents and strengths of every person, the willingness to listen to new ideas and a supportive, open atmosphere. When those elements are present, employees are energized and patients benefit.
A good indicator of how an organization values people is the satisfaction level of its own employees. Due to consistently favorable employee scores, John C. Lincoln was presented with the Galaxy Award, the highest level of recognition given by Morehead Associates, an independent research and assessment organization. The fact is, year’s scores put John C. Lincoln into Morehead's 95th percentile, ranked alongside health care facilities such as New York University Medical Center and the UCLA Hospital System.
“John C. Lincoln’s mission has always been about people. About finding the best people, and empowering them to do the very best work possible, so patients benefit.” -- Rhonda Forsyth, CEO, John C. Lincoln Health Network.
“We have involved bedside nurses in decision making about patient care issues through our “Shared Leadership’ model. They’ve made it work and it’s improving the quality of patient care.” -- Sue Hanauer, RN, MS, CNAA, Vice President of Patient Care Services
“My mom needed care while she was in Phoenix on a visit to see her new grandbabies. Mom became extremely ill, and we took her to the nearest hospital. That happened to be John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital. Our family will always be grateful to the entire staff—they treated my mom with such kindness, skill and respect. It was obvious to us that they are a team in the truest sense of the word.” -- Anna Staples
“It’s important to me to work with people who really care about being the best for patients. Everyone in our department comes prepared to give 110% and then some.”
-- Jeff Tschetter, RN, Director, Emergency Services.

John C. Lincoln Health Network Continues to Grow.
With explosive growth in the Phoenix North Valley, the demand for services at John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital and John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital has increased as well. We’re meeting the challenge with new facilities, new equipment and technology, new procedures and a medical staff that is energized about delivering the best health care possible to every person who walks through our doors.
John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital in Top 2 percent for Patient Care
John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital became the first medical facility in the Valley to be re-designated as a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Association, the foremost authority on quality of patient care. John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital was the first in the Valley to receive Magnet status in 2004.
Magnet designation is considered the nation's gold standard for nursing quality. Only about 4 percent of the nation's 6,000-plus hospitals have earned Magnet status. Less than 2 percent have earned redesignation. The keys of Magnet are collegial collaboration, shared leadership and empowerment of the bedside nurse to provide the best possible patient care.
Critical care nurses at North Mountain were also were recognized with a Beacon Award for their expertise in 2008 by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. Only100 of the 6,000-plus critical care units in the United States have been recognized in this manner.

Our radiologists are dedicated to the center, and biopsy results are provided in 24 hours. And the center is located right across the street from the full, advanced hospital facilities of John C. North Mountain Hospital Surgeons Get a Robotic Partner
The $2 million robotic da Vinci Surgical System is helping to improve clinical outcomes and redefine standards of care at John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital.
The system allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive, laparoscopic procedures through 1 to 2-centimeter incisions with the assistance of a miniature video camera attached to one of da Vinci’s four arms. The camera’s high-definition image is magnified up to 10 times the actual size, allowing the surgeon to see the tiniest details of the patient’s anatomy, in three-dimensional perspective.
The da Vinci seamlessly translates the surgeon’s hand, wrist and finger movements into precise, real-time, minimally invasive movements of laparoscopic surgical instruments inside the patient.
