PHP Software Engineer

Bronto Software, a leader in the competitive world of online interactive marketing, is seeking a well-rounded PHP Software Engineer experienced with medium-to-large-scale web development to assist in developing of our email marketing and analytics web applications.

The PHP Software Engineer must have experience in developing robust applications in a hosted software (SaaS) model.  Projects will include: design and implementation of new front-end features and functionality; improving the performance and quality of our existing code base; developing code appropriate for a highly available / reliable / scalable environment.  Knowledge of Internet marketing software, email systems, web analytics, or other highly transactional, write-intensive systems is an advantage.

Bronto is rapidly growing and our current client list includes names like Duke University, Trek Bikes, Gander Mountain, and Etsy.  We are seeking to increase the functionality of our applications as we continue to attract clients looking to apply higher degrees of measurement and metric-based analysis of their marketing campaigns.  If you have the technical expertise, experience, and self-motivation required, we could love to hear from you.

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3-7 years of experience in software development
• Expertise coding/working in PHP and SQL (other languages a plus)
• You live and breathe acronyms like OOP, MVC, and AJAX
• Experience developing in a Linux/Unix environment.  No Microsoft here
• Experience working with source code control such as Subversion, CVS, or Git
• Ability to write code that kicks butt and takes names
• Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
• A sense of humor helps too!
