DIA is a Federal Government agency and, as such, its civilian and military employees participate in outstanding Federal benefits programs.
The Federal Employees Group Life Insurance Program (FEGLI), the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program and the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), as well as a Flexible Work Schedule Program, are all available to DIA employees. In addition, DIA employees participate in an outstanding Leave Program. Annual leave provides DIA civilian employees with paid time off and is earned every two weeks. The amount of earned annual leave is determined by an employee’s length of government service (including applicable military service). Sick leave is also available and is also earned every two weeks. A number of other leave opportunities, including Family Friendly, Family Medical, Military, Court and Voluntary Leave Transfer, are also available as the situation warrants.
The Federal Government also observes 10 Federal paid holidays each year.
The Defense Intelligence Agency recognizes the inherent value of a diverse workforce-an intelligence culture where individuals of differing backgrounds and skills synchronize on the Agency mission. The business of intelligence relies on multiple viewpoints, backgrounds, and experiences to create the most accurate and objective products. Employees with knowledge of other cultures, languages, and perspectives contribute immensely to creative thinking, innovation, and Agency mission success. Each person is important to our mission, and we stand in unity as we face the challenges of protecting our freedoms.
DIA is committed to developing and maintaining a productive workplace based on inclusion and equality, effective team building, and efficient use of each employee's experiences, perspectives, and talents. Discrimination, bias, stereotyping, or any other activity that hinders a person's contributions is not tolerated. Building expertise with diversity in mind affords our employees the opportunity to be fully productive team members and requires commitment from all military and civilian staff members.
